“I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”

Zachariah 13:9

10 Commandments

There are hundreds of commandments, statutes or chôq in the scriptures. It is difficult to observe them all, but could you even keep just the Ten Commandments or the moral law of God perfectly?

דברים D’varim – Deuteronomy 6:5-6 “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:”

Have you always obeyed and loved God perfectly? If you are honest, the answer to that is “No”. We can’t even obey the 1st commandment to love God and always put Him first. Therefore, no one has been able to keep the even the 10 commandments perfectly. How many lies have you told in your lifetime? A human judge will not let a lying law breaker go free, neither will the judge of the universe.

Let’s be honest and not lie; we break commandments every day.

If you kept the commandments perfectly, this would mean you have never done anything in violation to God’s commands. Keeping all the commandments perfectly you would be considered by God “pure in heart,” perfect in thought, word, and deed. But you have not, and like all of can be judged by God for it.

קֹהֶלֶת Kohelet – Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

The proof that we have sinned and broken commandments will be our death, and after death we must face God in judgment. We can pretend to others that we don’t sin, but God knows the truth and has seen every thought, word, and deed in our mind and heart. If He is going to bring all our sins out as evidence of our guilt on the Day of Judgment, we will all be found guilty. Even those who are not religious know right from wrong, having a guilty conscience for breaking the 10 commandments or moral laws. All will be without excuse.

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ Yeshayahu – Isaiah 38:18 “For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.”

God will give us justice, and the pit of Hell will be the place of our eternal punishment with all the other liars, thieves, hatemongers, murders, rapists, rebels, and those that broke God’s rules.

We are guilty, and that’s why we need the Messiah. Remember, that Cain hated Abel first in his heart before he ever killed him. So we all have a heart and sin problem.

יִרְמְיָהוּ Yirmeyahu – Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Do you believe you have sinned?

Do you believe God has eternal love for you, to forgive you?

First you must understand some important things:

God loves you!

יִרְמְיָהוּ Yirmeyahu – Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.’”

מַלְאָכִי Mal’aki – Malachi 1:1-2 “’I have loved you,” saith the Lord. “Yet ye say, ‘Wherein hast thou loved us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” saith the Lord: “yet I loved Jacob,”

Admit you are a commandment breaker as sin exists in the life of every man and woman.

קֹהֶלֶת Kohelet – Ecclesiastes 7:20 “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ Yeshayahu – Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Because God is a Just God no sin can be in His presence and therefore He must punish sin with death.

יְחֶזְקֵאל Yehezquel – Ezekiel 18:4 “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”

יְחֶזְקֵאל Yehezquel – Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father; neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”

You can never be self-righteous enough to save yourself as a sinner through your mitzvah’s, good deeds, obeying, or praying. They’re not enough to save you.

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ Yeshayahu – Isaiah 57:12 “I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.”

“Basar” or Good News is that God has provided a way for you to be acceptable in His eyes.

וַיִּקְרָא Vayikra – Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

יְשַׁעְיָהוּ Yeshayahu – Isaiah 53:10-11 “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”

You can see from scripture that God first saw our need and then He became a man, the Lord Jesus Christ to become our substitionary blood sacrifice offering. Breaking just one commandment of God is enough to separate us from a holy, righteous and just God who cannot have sin enter into his Holy presence.

Jesus Christ is Immanuel, which means “God with us” in human flesh. He came as the Son of God in the Elohim Godhead. Just as we are one person, made up of a body, soul, and spirit; God, the Elohim Godhead, is comprised of God the Father (Abba), God the Son (Ben), and God the Spirit (Ruach). They are “echad” or one, as it says in Deuteronomy 6:4. The Elohim Godhead created the Heavens and Earth, each had a part, in fact it says God’s Spirit or “Ruach” was involved by moving or hovering on the waters of the earth (Genesis 1:1-2). This shows the Elohim Godhead is one, but functions as a Creator Father God and as a Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ was also one with God Elohim, and He is Yehovah Yeshua or Jehovah Saves, who later came to earth to die for sinful mankind, to be our perfect Passover Lamb and our eternal Yom Kippur. Only the Creator God, Yehovah Elohim, could die for His fallen creation and save it. The Lord Jesus Christ is the visible or manifested form of God Elohim as our Messiah.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the same Yehovah who appeared to Moses at the Tabernacle door and spoke to him face to face (Exodus 33:1). The same Elohim who wrestled with Jacob and whom Jacob declared that he had met God face to face (Genesis 32:24-30). The same Yehovah who met Abraham on the plains of Mamre and who Abraham ran and bowed down to (Genesis 18:1-3). No one can see Yehovah the Father in heaven, but they could see Yehovah Jesus, the Son of God Elohim. (Genesis 3:8-24; Genesis 18:1-2; Genesis 32:27-28; Exodus 33:11; Deuteronomy 34:10; Judges 13:22; Amos 9:1; 2 Chronicles 18:8, 18; Daniel 3:25)

תְּהִלִּים Tehillim – Psalms 95:7-8 “Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart.”

Do you believe you have sinned?

Do you believe God has eternal love for you, to forgive you?

Will you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your God, Messiah, and Savior today?

You can by faith and sincere prayer. Trust Him today through a heartfelt prayer like this:

“Adonai Messiah Jesus, I know I am a sinner and guilty of breaking your laws and commandments. You are a just and righteous God who will judge me for my sin. I believe you died on the cross for my sins, I believe you shed your blood to atone for all of my sins, and rose again the third day, defeating death, so that I might have eternal life and atonement. Please forgive me and save me from all of my sin and wrongdoing. Today, I open the door of my heart and receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me from my sins and help me to live in obedience to you and no longer after sin. I believe and ask this in the name of Yehovah Jesus the Messiah, amen.”
